Did you know that a ten second hug lowers your blood pressure by increasing the level of your ‘feel good’ hormone, oxytocin and lowering the level of your ‘stress chemical’, cortisol? I say, try it, it feels really good and launches you into a ‘healing vibration’.
You may notice your breathing slowing down, feeling more balanced, lighter and more in touch with your feelings, connected in a new way with your hug partner and more grounded – to name a few benefits.
For a ‘heartfelt’ variation try hugging by putting your head to the right of your partner’s head (so that you are both touching ‘heart to heart’) and notice if you feel a difference from hugging to the left.
Hug away to enrich your day!
